Add a Custom Domain to your Minecraft Server

In this tutorial, we will show you how to add a custom IP address to your server on a budget.
The domain
To get a custom IP address, you must first register a domain name, or website name. You can host a website as well at a slightly higher price, but this tutorial won't get into that.
Lets first get to know the terms.
Registrant You, the person who bought the domain
Registrar The company that has given you the domain.
Whois Your information linked to your domain, e.g. your address, email, and phone number. You can hide this by getting Whois privacy which is given for free with some registrars.
Now that you know the terms, lets get registering!
To get the domain, you must go to a registrar. We recommend Namecheap, and this tutorial will use it. You could also use Porkbun, or any other registrar.
Before doing anything, you need to register the domain. You can do this with the registrar you chose. The domain must not be a handshake or unstoppable domain for this to work.
You first must register your domain.

Once you have registered your domain, you must configure it to point to a service called Cloudflare.

Once you finish the first setup, it will tell you the nameservers you must configure it to, and you can change the domain to them. If your domain is too new or unregistered, you will not be able to link it to Cloudflare.

You can then configure the domain to link to the server with Cloudflare.

Set the values to the ones above and the "Target" input to your server IP address. You will now be able to connect to your Minecraft server with the custom IP address. If it doesn't work after around 10-15 minutes, try using a CNAME record instead of a SRV one.
You can change the Name value to the IP you would like to connect to (without yourdomain.com). You can also change it to * if you would like any part of yourdomain.com to connect to it. You could change it to @ if you just want yourdomain.com to connect to it.
